Located in the small town of Penafiel, north of Porto, is a family business with a wealth of experience and a genuine attitude. Since 1998, it has been producing knitwear that impresses not only with its design and quality, but also with its fair conditions and strong environmental awareness.
With 25 employees – 21 women and 4 men – the company focuses on a personal atmosphere and mutual respect. Many of the employees have been with the team for years, some even since its founding.
The knitting mill covers the entire production process – from digital design to knitting and sewing, to final inspection and packaging. This ensures everything is under one roof – with consistently high quality.
Sustainability that is taken into account – in every step
This company is GOTS, GRS, RWS and OCS certified and goes beyond legal standards: LED lighting, solar power, optimized machinery, recycling of textile scraps and yarn spools, only the essentials – without chemicals, using clean water, fair wages, safe workplaces, social responsibility
What northern lights are created there
Nordlicht produces high-quality knitwear – including sweaters, cardigans, and knitwear accessories made from organic cotton and wool. Each piece is carefully inspected, labeled, and packaged in an environmentally friendly manner before shipping.
