NORDLICHT relies on an economic model that focuses on people and nature. The common good economy is an alternative economic model that strives for a good life for all people instead of profit and growth. We joined the GWÖ in 2022 so that our contribution to the common good becomes even more transparent and measurable - for even more trust and clarity in our sustainable actions. The values of the common good economy are based on human dignity, solidarity, sustainability and transparency. The success of a company is not only measured by profit, but also by its contribution to the common good.

We support Ukraine.
While looking for a way to support the people in Ukraine, we came across Dmitry. Since 2022, we have been working closely with his factory in Ukraine and producing our wallets there. In order to help not only individuals, but a larger group, we have decided to donate €1 per product sold from Ukraine to a local organization. The aid organization “Rescue Now” was recommended to us by Dmitry because his cousin, among others, works here. “Rescue Now” helps with evacuations, buys food & medicine and takes care of people in need. Many companies have withdrawn their orders due to the uncertain economic situation in the country. But we think that every bit of support counts right now and have actively decided to partner with Dmitry and Ukraine.
By purchasing products from the Ukrainian manufacturer, every Nordlicht customer supports a piece of normality for the Ukrainian employees and donates to help people in need.

Viva con Agua
We support Viva con Agua with a fixed amount every month. Because water is life. Clean drinking water improves and protects health, gives children the opportunity to go to school long-term, empowers women, strengthens local economies and enables a better future. However, many people around the world do not have secure access to this valuable commodity.
Viva con Agua advocates for access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. We focus on positive activism and use the universal languages of music, sport and art in our work and projects at home and abroad. We support the vision “Water for everyone – everyone for water” with monthly donations, because water is life.

In & Out
At Nordlicht we care about sustainability and resource-saving designs, but in this world there are so many other important issues that accompany us in our everyday lives. We regularly support the In & Out organization for the LGBTQI+ community.
In&Out offers advice for young LGBTQI+ people nationwide. Through youth meetings and workshops, they make it easier for young queer people to get to know each other and exchange ideas. Various DIY projects strengthen self-confidence and make it easier to raise one's own voice. They also campaign for LGBTQI+ interests at federal and state level.
