Our clothing is predominantly manufactured in Portuguese factories, with the aim of being worn for a long time.
We donate
With every purchase of our wallets, you also support important aid projects. Since 2022, we have donated 5% of the proceeds from products manufactured in Ukraine to the organization "Rescue Now"...providing local people with essential goods. Thank you for helping us make a difference."
Materials
For Nordlicht We rely on natural materials such as organic cotton, linen, TENCEL™ and wool. These fibers are based on natural or renewable raw materials and can be biodegradable under suitable conditions.
Many of our products are GOTS-certified. This means that certified products are subject to requirements regarding the processing of the natural fibers used, as well as environmental and social criteria throughout the manufacturing process.
Production
Our clothing is produced in Europe, primarily in Portugal. Many of our products are GOTS-certified. GOTS-certified products meet not only environmental criteria but also social requirements in their production. These include, among other things, regulations concerning occupational safety, working hours, discrimination, and employee rights.
Through our collaboration with our production partners in Portugal, we rely on transparent standards and long-term partnerships. This allows us to clearly state where our clothing is manufactured and what requirements apply to our GOTS-certified products.
Certificates
We are GOTS certified.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) defines ecological and social requirements for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. These include, among other things, specifications for the use of chemicals as well as social criteria based on internationally recognized labor standards.
Our GOTS-certified products meet the requirements of the standard and are manufactured within a certified and controlled system. We have also outlined our own principles for working with our production partners in our [document/document/etc.]. Code of Conduct detained.
This makes it clear which standards apply to our certified products and how they are verified.
